Pictures Around Cromer
Pictures around Cromer with the National Galleries of Scotland
From The Monarch of the Glen to the Reverend Walker
As stated in a blog written in 2020 by Robin Baillie, Senior Outreach Officer at National Galleries of Scotland ‘If you’re young and you live in ‘the sticks’, how do you get access to visual art?’ 1 This is the challenge faced not only by the young but by people of all ages in and around Cromer, a seaside fishing town on the coast in North Norfolk: a place where the arts are not widely available.
In 2022/3 Cromer Artspace collaborated with the National Gallery, London, to bring 30 life sized reproductions from their amazing collection to the streets of Cromer which grabbed the attention of a wide community audience: interest which is continuing to spill into schools as we loan and give talks about some of the pictures.
Cromer Artspace are pleased to announce that we will be working with the National Galleries of Scotland in 2025, bringing a new exhibition to the streets of Cromer from March 2025.
