Public Art in Cromer

Cromer Artspace aims to provide a platform for a variety of art projects in Cromer.
The Project will develop community involvement and interest in the arts.
We will encourage varied audiences to visit our rural coastal town – helping the arts in Cromer to grow and develop.
We will create opportunities to bring contemporary and innovative art to Cromer.
We want to support arts practitioners with successful projects, and for the arts to become valued as a vital part of local life and leisure. Our priorities are:

To Encourage Art in Public Places – by reclaiming public spaces as venues for arts activity and putting in place a programme of initiatives in the public realm. Projects may include art which is exhibited in a public space including publicly accessible buildings.

To Increase Accessibility – by engaging a wide and diverse audience, broadening opportunities and offering involvement and inclusivity through encouraging potential for the development of a dedicated exhibition and workshop space.

To Increase Audience Engagement – and participation by nurturing understanding of the arts, providing a wider context and enhancing learning opportunities. Instigated through links with arts organisations and practitioners for exchanges, visits, exhibitions, talks and workshops etc.

To Undertake Research – and consultation in order to understand and promote the value of the arts in our local community, and to investigate funding opportunities for long term project viability.

To Support Local Businesses -by encouraging participation and organising events during quieter times of the year.
