CROMER ARTSPACE – A new look for Cromer
Cromer Artspace has been created to encourage arts in public spaces and develop community involvement in the arts. We aim to enable projects which increase accessibility and audience engagement, support local businesses and help the arts to become valued as a vital part of local life and leisure.
Covid 19 has forced us to restructure our initial plans, but with a kick-start grant from Cromer Town Council we are now ready to launch with 2 exciting projects.
CROMER LOCKDOWN VIEWS: An opportunity to be creative and to use lockdown isolation as subject matter. Whoever you are – professional artist, amateur or total beginner – this is your chance to have a go. Use any medium – drawing, painting, textiles, print, collage, modelling, poetry, sculpture, film, photography, music… anything goes!
Your work will become part of an online gallery echoing the mood of Cromer during Covid19. We hope to exhibit much or the submitted artwork in shop windows and other public spaces around town later in the year.

RESEARCH PROJECT: will investigate how other towns have developed high quality, innovative and contemporary public art – opening opportunities on a world scale for participation and understanding. Murals, a sculpture trail, repurposing public shelters, exhibitions in empty buildings, community workshops, conservation arts projects, could we become part of England’s
Creative Coast? There are big ideas and small ideas out there – but, most importantly, we need ideas from our local population – to help us develop something unique and special for Cromer.
Cromer Artspace is run by a small group of arts and admin professionals. If you’d
like to join us please get in touch.
