Pictures around Cromer – The National Gallery Collection

The Bigger Picture 2021 project, showing 25 life sized reproductions of artworks around Cromer, was well received with over 99% of community survey responses overwhelmingly positive and asking for more art to be shown.

Cromer Artspace, the charity who organised the exhibition, has been approached by the National Gallery, London, to work in partnership in 2022, to bring reproductions of works from their extensive world famous collection to Cromer for a second outdoor exhibition.

This is a major coup for Cromer, the wonderful expertise and resources of the National Gallery will bring benefits to residents, businesses and visitors alike. The project will run from September 2022 until April 2023, thereby avoiding the summer season and encouraging more visitors in quieter months.

This outreach partnership project from the National Gallery is the first of its kind in Britain and comes with the full backing of their national marketing and social media resources. This offers the potential to put Cromer, our partners and supporters firmly on the national map.

Whilst all 3 councils are providing financial support, such a project stretches the resources of the charity Cromer Artspace, and we really encourage you to help by donating to the charity. To thank you, all businesses who donate £50 or more will be promoted on the supporters page of the exhibition website. We will be delighted to discuss larger donations too.

Cromer Artspace is run entirely by volunteers and we are working hard to create exciting new opportunities for the people of Cromer. If you can help with publicity by promoting this project on your website and social media, by helping to distribute the exhibition leaflets or if you have any other promotional ideas please let us know – we’d love to work with you!

This really is a unique opportunity for Cromer. Let’s work together to make it a success
