Michael Horsley, Painter and Lithographer
6 – 17 June 2024
Michael Horsley is a painter who also makes lithographs.
They were made on stones at a print studio in Vác, a small town on the Danube near Budapest, Hungary. Michael would drive there 2 or 3 times a year from his home in Cromer. The Hungarian master printer István Szabó, was the essential collaborator who Michael worked with for over 20 years.
Making lithographs on stones is a stubbornly slow process, far removed from screen printing or digital technology, but can be immensely rewarding.
