Through a series of writing exercises and group discussions of poems, in this interactive writing workshop we’ll explore the poem as a map: how poetry can help us navigate our internal and external worlds and how we can use places, numbers and grids in poetry.
The workshop will be led by local writer & teacher James McDermott. James’s poetry collections include ‘Father Myself’ (Nine Arches Press), ‘Wild Life’ (Nine Arches Press; shortlisted for the East Anglian Book Award 2023) and ‘Manatomy’ (Burning Eye Books). James is an Arvon writing tutor and lecturer in creative writing at UEA.
