Secret Auction 2025 donation
Could you help us on our journey by donating a piece of original art to our auction this year? The art will be in our exhibition at Artspace on the Prom from 9 -25 August, but it’s a secret online auction – bidders don’t know the artist until they are successful so they but what they like. It is an opportunity for everyone to own a piece of original art.
Cromer Artspace CIO was set up in 2019 with the aim of bringing art to Cromer for the benefit of residents and visitors. Over the last three years we have established an exciting contemporary artspace in an iconic art deco building on the promenade, which is rapidly gaining a reputation for interesting work and high standards.
We have been successful in gaining funding for the renovation of this much-loved building, which had previously been empty for a decade. Now we have an access ramp, an accessible toilet and a re-covered roof. We re-opened in January 2025 with new heating, lighting, walls, ceiling and floor, damp proofed and insulated.
However, it costs us £10,000 a year to run Artspace on the Prom. We currently have no funding from council or other funding bodies and Cromer Artspace is run entirely by volunteers.
We have achieved a great deal very quickly, but we would like to do more! We particularly wish to increase our support for emerging artists and our work to provide creative opportunities for community members.
In 2025 we will be running a small artist development programme, which we hope develop further. We have a variety of workshops planned for 2025, but we need more funds to extend this programme, to pay artists fairly and to make any costs for participants accessible.
We are applying for funding, but we hope that you will help us to make our 2025 secret auction such a success that we can cover costs and develop further into new exciting territory for the arts in North Norfolk.
We need from you a piece of work, signed on the reverse, to be exhibited at Artspace on the Prom and on our website. Your name on the list of contributing artists will help us to attract bidders. There will be an online secret auction during the exhibition.
Works should be no larger than A2 for 2D or 50 cm in any dimension for 3D.
Cromer Artspace has been amazingly successful. Please help us to build on this and be part of creating something unique and very special in North Norfolk.
If you can donate a piece of work, please complete the form below. Delivery will be on August 7th, 10am to 4pm at Artspace on the Prom, or contact for alternative arrangements. Please make any offers by the end of July.
You will be able to follow the bidding online.
Thank you.
