The evolving story of the Fishermen of Hastings – the art of Laetitia Yhap

Leatitia Yhap’s work “Paul carrying Robin Huss with dog Saxon” is part of this year’s Bigger Picture exhibition, on display outside the Co-op

Join us for an evening with celebrated artist Laetitia Yhap, whose long‑term engagement with the Hastings fishing community has produced one of the most distinctive bodies of work in contemporary British art. Through drawing, painting, and close observation, Yhap has spent decades documenting the lives, labour, and landscape of the Hastings fishermen — a story that continues to evolve.

Laetitia will discuss her practice, the people and place that shaped it, and the new book exploring this remarkable project at this informal Q&A and book signing.

Wednesday 15th July, 18.00
