Strange days indeed.
Christine Allman, Sophie Jean Marritt and Coco Crampton
Event Details
Strange Days Indeed brings together painting, moving image, sound and ceramics in an immersive exploration of landscape, memory and transformation.
Christine Allman’s meticulously crafted egg tempera paintings reveal an uncanny East Anglian landscape shaped by change, loss and renewal. Built through countless tiny brush marks, her works capture places that feel both familiar and unsettling, poised between reality and imagination.
Responding to these themes, Sophie Jean Marritt presents a journey through slow-moving video and atmospheric sound, creating meditative spaces that invite reflection and contemplation. Her work drifts between the observed and the dreamlike, evoking fragile connections between people, place and time.
Completing the dialogue, Coco Crampton’s ceramic works bring a physical dimension to the exhibition. Their textured surfaces interact with sound and light, reflecting and amplifying the sensory experience of the gallery space.
Together, the three artists create an environment that is at once poetic and immersive, where landscape becomes a site of memory, transformation and encounter. Strange Days Indeed invites visitors to slow down, listen closely and experience the familiar world anew.
