Poetry Workshop – Found Poetry
James McDermott
To coincide with Julie Oxenforth’s exhibition of works made using found objects, through a series of writing exercises and group discussions of poems, in this interactive writing workshop we will explore how we can create found poems by repurposing existing texts in the world.
This workshop will be led by local writer and teacher James McDermott. James’s poetry collections include ‘Father Myself’ (Nine Arches Press), ‘Wild Life’ (Nine Arches Press; shortlisted for The East Anglian Book Award 2023) and ‘Manatomy’ (Burning Eye Books.) James is an Arvon writing tutor and lecturer in creative writing at UEA.
